CN Timber Oil Timber Preservative 4L

For the protection of timber in exposed and damp conditions from fungal decay and borers
APPLICATION RATE- Apply 1 litre per 6-8 square metres
CN Timber Oil is a preservative for use in high hazard environments above ground where exposure and damp conditions could promote decay. The incorporation of a mineral oil base rather than solvents means that the product will provide long term water repellency and protection from degrade. The product can be used in situations such as the following:-

• Wharfs, bridges and sleepers
• Posts, poles, joists and bearers, above ground
• Hardwood retaining walls and fencing

Timber treated with CN Timber Oil will initially be a dark green colour. Within a week for most hardwoods, the colour will change to a mild brown depending upon the type of timber. Soft woods such as treated pine will tend to remain green for a few weeks, eventually drying to a honey brown.
Timber surfaces coated with CN Timber Oil may display oil residue for a period of time. It is not recommended to apply to surfaces where direct contact with clothing may occur eg. pool decks, outdoor furniture, as staining may result.

Length of Protection- Generally the product will provide protection for at least 2-3 years. More frequent retreatment may be required in severe conditions.

This product can be used for timber in contact with plants or animals or on surfaces that will have frequent human contact. Painting over surfaces treated with CN Timber Oil is not recommended.

APPLICATION- CN Timber Oil is best applied by brush or roller. For small timbers a dipping process can also be used. Absorption of the oil into the timber will be complete within 48 hours in warm dry conditions. Longer periods will be required in cool conditions or where
the timber itself is not dry.
To assist penetration and drying, particularly with green hardwoods, dilute the product with up to 20% mineral spirits. Clean up brushes and rollers with mineral turpentine.
